God's Thumb | Lincoln City, OR
Embark on a divine adventure to God's Thumb on the Oregon Coast. This 4.7‑mile‑out‑and‑back trail features breathtaking coastal vistas and windswept cliffs. God's Thumb is considered moderately challenging, but it's worth every step as you get to view the Oregon Coast in a way you've never experienced.

Clatsop Loop Trail | Ecola State Park, OR
Discover coastal magic near Cannon Beach, OR, as you travel along the 2.8‑mile trail. You'll come across mossy forests that lead you to unparalleled ocean views. This region was documented by Lewis and Clark as the southernmost destination in their journey along the Columbia River.

Angel's Rest | Corbett, OR
Ascend to new heights at Angel's Rest. With 4.5 miles of all terrain types, this hike is one of the more challenging ones on our list. You'll travel through thick forests and loose rocks until you hit the ridge, but don't stop there! A few hundred more feet North is where the true treasure lies; this is where you will take in 360‑degree views of the Columbia River Gorge and the winding river below.

Pittock Mansion via Wildwood Trail | Portland, OR
Step into history's embrace along the Wildwood Trail to the Pittock Mansion. This relatively easy 3.2‑mile loop attracts people and families of all ages who want to enjoy enchanting pathways and sweeping cityscape views. This trail truly combines elegance, nature, and the spirit of Portland.

Hamilton Mountain Loop | Near Stevenson, WA
Situated just 45 minutes from Vancouver, WA, this popular hike takes you on an exhilarating 7.2‑mile journey that offers expansive views of Mount Hood, Mount Adams, and the Columbia River Gorge. While this hike is deemed challenging, you will be rewarded with views that will take your breath away.

Dog Mountain | Cook, WA
Hike into a world of diverse landscapes and captivating habitats on this incredible 6.5‑mile loop nestled on the Washington side of the Columbia River Gorge. Considered one of the most challenging hikes within the Portland Metro Area, Dog Mountain takes you on a thigh‑burning adventure that has you starting out in high desert fauna and ending in an alpine meadow.

Tumalo Falls | Deschutes National Forest, OR
Meander onto this moderate trail through flourishing forests with stunning waterfall views. This spectacular hike features a well‑maintained walking trail perfect for a family outing. Choose the 6.8‑mile loop trail, or you can drive to available parking near the falls (we won't tell).

Broken Top Summit | Deschutes Natl. Forest, OR
This challenging but breathtaking hike provides awe‑inspiring vistas of ponderosa pines, vibrant wildflowers, and views of Mt. Bachelor all along the way to the summit. Once you reach the summit, take in the views of No Name Lake's perfectly turquoise water against the landscape of the purple volcanic crater. While this hike may not be for the faint of heart, it may just become one of your favorites too!

Misery Ridge & River Trail | Smith Rock State Park, OR
This iconic hike presents a captivating 3.5‑mile loop that encapsulates the finest elements of Smith Rock. You will gain the majority of the elevation in the first section of the trail, climbing just over 1,000 feet on switchbacks and wooden stairs (this is the misery part). The hike will reward you with views of impressive rock formations and a dramatic landscape that's hard to compare.

Silver Falls State Park | Silver Falls State Park, OR
Just a short drive from Portland, you can find solace at Silver Falls State Park. With numerous waterfalls along the 7.2‑mile loop, you will surely find some picture‑perfect places throughout your journey. With waterfalls you can walk behind, and whimsical moss‑covered trees encapsulated by lush greenery, this hike embodies the Pacific Northwest perfectly.
