Seeing this dog that seems to think all the fanfare is for him brings back good memories.
When I raced triathlons (as an amateur), I would start to tire during the run portion. When I'd hear people cheer along the course, I always imagined they were cheering for me.
"Go Bob" for a guy in my vicinity rang in my ears as "You look great, Dan - keep it up!".
I could power myself to a strong finish on the sounds of all that cheering for me.
It was a great lesson in how powerful our minds are. Of course, I knew they weren't necessarily cheering for me (especially when they yelled "Bob"), but that didn't matter.
I heard what helped me perform.
I try to recall those races on days when the course feels uphills both ways at work or similar and I can start to look for "signs" that the world is cheering me on.
I don't really believe in those signs, but in times of struggle or challenge, I will still turn to them for a pick-me-up.
I once read advice (to paraphrase): "Believe that the world is conspiring to support you."
Sure, it could be taken to a selfish extreme, but in moderation, it's a way to view the world as having a hand at your back on not against your chest.
Look for signs today and feel your energy pick up right away.
